Xiaomi: Mi Band 2 Review

FITNESS BAND!? What is a Fitness Band or Fitness Tracker? ( I call it Fitness Band cos it sounds high class. WHAT AM I TALKING ABOUT) It sits quietly on your wrist: counting up your steps, monitoring your sleep, calculating your heart beats and blah blah blah... This fitness band come up with all those statistics that appear on your smartphone app.

So today, I'm going to introduce the *drum rolls please* Mi Band 2. Mi Band 2 is a 24/7 activity tracker that comes with a 0.42-inch OLED screen which is covered by scratch-resistant glass and an anti-fingerprint coating for an extra layer of protection AND WATERPROOF.

I bought this at Xiaomi Official Store in Shanghai, China. The price is 149¥. (equivalent to RM93.49) Quite cheap if you compare to iWatch, Samsung Gear or other fitness bands. Mi Band 2 only comes with BLACK (band). If you want other colours for the band, you need to add some more $$. Just the band not with the device

 Specifications

The fitness band size is 40.3 x 15.7 x 10.5 mm (L x W x H). The total band length is 235 mm, and the adjustable length is 155 to 210 mm. It can fits on your wrist perfectly. It's very light - 7.0 g ONLY.

You can connect it to your phone easily. It doesn't have a Bluetooth button on it. It connects automatically when you are on bluetooth. It is compatible with  Android 4.4 +  and iOS 7.0 + Of course, you need to download the app.

Special Features

It is a Health tracker: Measurement of heart rate, Sleep tracker, Pedometer, Calories burned to measure, Steps counting, and  Distance recording. It also alerts you by vibrating when you are exercising. What I mean is it vibrates when you receive phone calls or messages. It can hold up to 70°C and the lowest temperature is -20°C. No worry if you are using it in the cold, cold countries or the Sahara Desert. HAHA

Battery

   

The battery is made up of a Lithium polymer battery and has a capacity of 70 mAH. The standby time is about 20 days. It lasts long.
